On June 12th in Sofia, the tech community will gather for the fifth edition of one of the most anticipated events in the field of data and Microsoft technologies – Discovery Day 2025.

The venue is Capital Fort, and the theme this year is not just relevant – it is right where the change is happening: SQL Server 2025, Microsoft Fabric, and AI in real-world architectures and solutions.

Organized by the Bulgarian user groups Azure Analytics and Let’s SQL Together, with main host and sponsor INSPIRIT, and with the support of A1, Generali, Also and Crayon, the event puts technologies in the spotlight – through practical demonstrations, shared experiences and expert-level conversation.

“Discovery Day is more than an event – it is a place where the technical community in Bulgaria meets to exchange experiences, learn and create value. That’s the true purpose of user groups – to grow together through knowledge and practice.”

– shares Margarita Naumova, founder of the Azure Analytics and Let’s SQL Together user groups.

What awaits the participants?

Technical sessions without marketing noise  – Keynote speakers  will dive into the latest in SQL Server 2025 – from architectural innovations to query optimization and performance. Participants will see how Microsoft Fabric integrates ETL, lakehouse, warehouse, and Power BI into a unified workflow.

While the technical sessions focus on in-depth solutions, a Business Track will also be held in parallel, providing strategic context – how technologies like Microsoft Fabric and AI are becoming real value-adds for companies. Topics will include return on investment, time to implementation, human resources and competitiveness– a valuable perspective for anyone building solutions alongside the business side.

AI that doesn’t just sound good, it works – Artificial intelligence will be among the topics that will find a place in the discussions and demonstrations during Discovery Day 2025. Real-world examples of AI use will be presented, including Copilot scenarios and automated data analysis, as part of complete architectures and working solutions with Microsoft technologies.

Discussions for solution builders – Infrastructure, security, latency, scalability, cost-efficiency – all through the eyes of architects, consultants, and practitioners who work with Microsoft Data Platform on a daily basis.

And of course, the legendary Quiz – A Discovery Day trademark – an interactive quiz in which participants will compete with other specialists in a team format.  Winners will receive memorable prizes.

Among the highlights of Discovery Day 2025 is the participation of leading international speakers who will share their practical experience of working with Microsoft technologies in various industries and large-scale projects around the world. Their names will be announced very soon, and their presence makes the event a unique opportunity for the Bulgarian tech community to meet global experts and gain first-hand knowledge.

“Our goal with Discovery Day has always been one – to provide practical knowledge that’s accessible to everyone in the community. This isn’t about a future vision, but about solutions that we can implement today.”

– Magi Naumova

The conference is aimed at everyone who works with data – SQL Developers, Data Engineers, BI Consultants, architects, as well as enthusiasts who want to upgrade their knowledge and get to know the latest in Microsoft technologies. This year, it is also aimed at businesses interested in how new technologies are changing the way data can be worked with. Discovery Day 2025 offers content you can’t get from videos or documentation. This is a place for professional exchange, real experience and meaningful conversations with people who think in the same direction.

Attendance is free, with prior registration required.

MARGARITA NAUMOVA: PASSION FOR DATA

April 8, 2025/by adm1n

MARGARITA NAUMOVA: PASSION FOR DATA

Source: Vagabond.bg

As a top 1% SQL Server expert and founder of Inspirit consultancy, she knows how to lead in the highly dynamic world of IT.

In Bulgaria, being a woman and having a stellar career in IT is not unheard of – the country leads the EU in terms of female professionals working at all levels of the industry. But even in this environment, Margarita Naumova’s story is impressive.

A renowned data platform expert, she holds the highest SQL Server technical certification in the field – Microsoft Certified Master, which means she is one of the best SQL Server experts in the world and among the top 1% of IT professionals worldwide.

With over 25 years of experience in SQL Server and BI technologies consulting and training, she is a trusted advisor in Microsoft Data Platform for many companies in Bulgaria and abroad. Her professional interests include SQL Server and BI platform solutions design and architecture, SQL Server performance tuning and optimisation, SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery solutions, SQL Server security, Azure Data Platform solutions design and implementation.

Margarita Naumova is also keen to share her knowledge and experience with the next generation of experts. She is the leader and founder of the Bulgarian SQL & BI User Group Let’s SQL Together!, Azure Analytics User Group BG and is a regular presenter at the world’s largest IT events.

In 2010, she took a bold step forward that required her to step up her leadership game. She founded Inspirit, a consultancy and support services company, where she became CEO and Chief SQL Architect. Nine years later, the company moved abroad and opened an office in Norway.

Do you remember when and how you discovered that working with data was your passion – a field in which you could be one of the best?

When I was in my third year at university, I was fascinated by the Databases course. I immediately understood that this was where I wanted to pursue a career. It had structure, clarity, a model and a connection to reality. After completing my Masters in Business Informatics, I stayed on to teach Databases at the University of Economics in Varna. My practical interest deepened when I started giving professional SQL Server training as one of the first Microsoft Certified Trainers in Bulgaria. The direct interaction with technology as a trainer for professionals and experts made me reconsider my career path and from that moment on I dedicated myself to this field.

When did you realise that you had the potential to be a leader? What is your most important leadership quality?

I have never thought of myself as a leader. I am uncompromisingly demanding of myself and always strive to perfect everything I do down to the last detail. I suppose that this meticulousness and my vision for quality work manifests itself in my behaviour and inspires my colleagues to strive for the same. I believe that leadership is not a matter of character. It is an effect – the result of something in your behaviour, vision and beliefs that impresses those around you and inspires them to follow you. I put a lot of energy and passion into my work, presentations, training and consulting projects. This, combined with my attention to detail and strict discipline, helps me to be well prepared. This creates a sense of confidence, which in turn inspires trust – the most essential aspect of leadership.

What are the biggest challenges you have faced as an IT leader?

In my professional and personal journey, leadership has never been a goal. Therefore, I do not view challenges through the lens of leadership. My goals have always been to gain technical and life experience and knowledge, and to use it as best I can to help clients and partners who have chosen to trust me. When I founded Inspirit and understood what it meant to work with a team of colleagues willing to follow me, my goals did not change. Only my standards of self-discipline and responsibility have become even higher.

What inspired you to start your own business?

The desire to be independent in my work and to have the freedom to create and do things my way. I wanted to build a company that would allow me to do business in a way that was in line with my vision. The decision to start Inspirit was not an emotional impulse, but the result of many lessons learned throughout my career. During my six years at Microsoft, I found great satisfaction in my work as a consultant in the Microsoft Consulting Services team. I gained extensive experience in international teams and large projects. It was there that I realised what I would do differently and how I could add value to consulting services. The idea of setting up my own consultancy began to take shape.

Why did you choose Norway as the first country outside Bulgaria to open an Inspirit office?

I did not choose Norway – it was more the other way round. By coincidence, many of my engagements as a presenter and technical instructor were in the Nordic countries, starting in Sweden, then Denmark and Finland. Norway was the last of these countries I visited, but it was the one that really captivated me. To my surprise, I found that I had a strong connection with the intelligent, reserved and highly critical Norwegian audience. I felt a natural chemistry working with them.

One day I was invited to set up a start-up company in Norway. By that time, I had already begun to appreciate this rugged yet stunning part of Europe and my perspective had changed. I said yes and the rest is history.

What are the differences between working with teams in Bulgaria and Norway?

There are so many of them. They stem from the different environments in which the teams operate, different market dynamics, cultural differences, national psychology and many other factors. However, the common denominator is always the delivery of high quality and valuable consulting services – a goal that ensures that these differences do not become insurmountable challenges. In Scandinavia, quality service is practically a cultural standard – it is delivered naturally, with a smile, without stress or pressure. I am still learning this approach, but I have great examples to follow and I am bringing this mindset to our work with Bulgarian clients.

Is there a place for women leaders in IT?

There is always a place for good leadership. Female leadership brings a touch of empathy, collaboration and innovation. As women leaders, we often create supportive work environments, encourage innovation and develop long-term strategies. Our leadership style blends analytical and intuitive approaches, often leading to better decision-making and greater team engagement.

In today’s world, discussing gender segregation in IT leadership is simply a matter of stereotypes – stereotypes that still exist, but should not become barriers. Women have access to every career path, and the decision to pursue a particular path depends solely on their personal choice and ambition. The key is to believe in yourself, maintain your vision and pursue it with focus, perseverance, empathy and discipline.

In the Bulgarian IT sector, women leaders are by no means an exception. The ones that I met during my career are outstanding professionals – people with vision and character. I am honoured to have worked with them.

How do you see the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence?

This is a revolutionary leap forward in the evolution of humanity. Artificial intelligence itself is not new. What is new is the way it is being distributed – by becoming easily accessible to everyone and creating new opportunities for business. This is a revolution similar to the rise of the Internet and the dot-com era, but it will go much further. Eventually, “natural” and “artificial” intelligence will become the two sides of the same coin.

Each such revolution stretches the “rubber band of consequences” to its limits, bringing with it many creative opportunities but also the potential for destructive use.

Thanks to LLMs (Large Language Models), artificial intelligence has become capable of communicating in “human language”, changing the rules of the game. The way people interact with technology is evolving. It is exciting to be able to “talk” to AI, to express what we want and to be properly understood. For almost a century, we have done this through specialised programming languages, writing code that is compiled and translated into ones and zeros. Now we can simply “ask” or give a specific task in the form of a prompt and wait for the result.

Today, we can use AI’s “knowledge” to answer questions, solve problems, generate programming code and create content (text, video, audio, etc.). More recently, with the advent of AI agents, we are able to design automated workflows using instructions in natural human language. And this is only the beginning.

Inspirit is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. How do you see the company in another 15 years?

Fifteen years is an incredibly long time to make any predictions. In today’s world, it is equivalent to 50 years of transformation in the 20th century. Changes in our way of life are extremely dynamic and unpredictable. Visions rarely extend beyond a five-year horizon. However, I will allow myself to play the futurist.

In 15 years’ time, Inspirit will be a high-tech company providing impeccable quality services in the markets in which it operates. It will be uncompromisingly efficient in its use of resources and a benchmark employer.

Which project or client from Inspirit’s portfolio has made the strongest impression on you?

The Inspirit team has had the honour of providing services to some of the largest companies in the Bulgarian market. These were not just projects, but years of cooperation, where Inspirit helped to solve problems while  gaining invaluable knowledge and experience.

We have always strived to be at the forefront of technology. Years ago, we were the first company to successfully migrate SQL Server infrastructures to the latest product version. This is a complex process full of unknowns, but we led the way anyways.

Five years ago, when Azure Cloud was still gaining traction globally and cloud solutions in Bulgaria were mostly experimental, we successfully implemented a solution based on Medallion architecture using Delta tables – a little-known technology at the time – at one of the largest logistics companies in the country.

Today, Inspirit is once again “blazing a trail” by working to build a cloud-based data analytics platform using Microsoft Fabric – a technology that is still in its infancy in Bulgaria.

It is this kind of cutting-edge work that leaves the deepest impact on our journey, because it is the lessons learned along the way that are the hardest and most challenging.

Why did you choose to train the next generation of SQL specialists?

Teaching is a calling. Even after leaving academia, I have never strayed from teaching. In fact, this is my 26th year renewing my Microsoft Certified Trainer certification.

I have been fortunate to learn a great deal from the very people who created the technologies that are now widely used around the world. I had the opportunity to go through the Microsoft Master Training Programme, where the instructors were members of the product development teams at Microsoft.

I was keen to pass on this wealth of knowledge to others, which led me to create the SQL Master Academy training programme. The recognition it has received and the thousands of professionals it has trained over the years tell me that I made the right choice.

Knowledge tailored to your needs – prepare your team for today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities!

February 21, 2025/by adm1n

Knowledge tailored to your needs – prepare your team for today's challenges and tomorrow's opportunities!

In our practice, we often encounter cases where standard training does not fully meet the specific needs of companies. Organizations need more targeted and adapted training programs that reflect their specific requirements and business challenges.

SQL Master Academy offers customized training designed specifically for your team to match their needs and the specifics of your business. Whether the training is conducted on-site at your office or online, the content and format will be fully adjusted to your business goals and operational challenges.

The personalized approach ensures high practical applicability and optimal use of your team’s time. Moreover, these training sessions represent an effective and cost-efficient alternative when several people in your company need to improve their skills at the same time.

How does the process work?

  1. Needs analysis

Each client begins with a consultation, during which we analyze the technical challenges, team level, and specific business goals. At this stage, we clearly define the challenges for the team and set measurable training goals.

In addition to a client representative, the consultation may also include questionnaires or surveys to assess individual competencies and confidence in using the relevant technology in daily work. These questionnaires are completed by all training participants, allowing for even more precise adaptation of the content to the specific needs of each team member.

  1. Creating a training content

Our experts develop the training content by selecting modules, exercises and topics according to the specific needs of your team. The design of the training is based on the identified challenges and goals, and the training can be composed by combining existing modules in our portfolio or be completely developed from scratch. It is also possible to adapt existing courses by adding or removing topics depending on the level and goals of your team.

The process of creating the training program is interactive and involves active coordination with the client. After the initial content structuring, we hold discussions with your team to ensure that the program fully meets your expectations and needs. Based on your feedback, we finalize the curriculum by adapting the structure, the balance between theory and practice, and the focus of the topics. Our goal is to create training that is not only informative, but also fully applicable to the real challenges in your organization.

  1. Flexibility of the format

Training can be conducted online or in person, in an intensive or modular format, according to the convenience and workload of your team.

  1. Interactive training with experts

Our instructors are certified professionals with many years of practical experience. They combine their work on real projects with teaching to provide high practical value. Our instructors are familiar with various technological solutions and lead the training process according to best practices and the latest trends in the industry.

  1. Evaluation and follow-up support

At the end of the training, we collect feedback from the participants and provide guidance and recommendations for next steps. To ensure long-term application of the acquired knowledge, we also offer a Post-training support package, where participants can receive additional guidance and assistance from the instructor for a smooth transition from training to the real work environment.

What are the benefits for your company?

🔹Focus on real business challenges-Your team acquires knowledge that is directly related to your current projects.

15 Years INSPIRIT: A Story of People and Data

15 Years INSPIRIT: A Story of People and Data

Source: Manager.bg

“Everything began with a belief in the potential of data and the power of people.” With these words, Magi Naumova, founder of INSPIRIT, describes the company’s beginning 15 years ago. Today, INSPIRIT is a recognized leader in consulting, support, and training in the field of Microsoft Data Platform.

Magi Naumova founded INSPIRIT in 2010 after deciding to leave Microsoft and her position as a consultant at Microsoft Consulting Services, where she had spent six years of her career. Two years earlier, Magi achieved the Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) qualification and became part of an elite group of SQL Server Data Platform experts recognized worldwide for their expertise.

INSPIRIT was born with the vision to help companies turn their data into a strategic asset. Magi began her entrepreneurial journey with a small team and and an unwavering belief in her ideas.
Magi embarks on her entrepreneurial journey with a small team and many ideas she truly believes in.

The Early Years: Lessons and Building Trust

The first steps of INSPIRIT are tied to the creation of SQL Master Academy – a specialized training program focused on SQL Server Data Platform technologies. Among the academy’s first clients were Hewlett-Packard Bulgaria and DSK Bank. SQL Master Academy quickly gained momentum and recognition, becoming an independent brand distinguished by its thematic focus, depth of detail, and strong practical orientation towards real-world production scenarios. This opened the doors to working on projects with local companies, giving Margarita and her team the opportunity to apply their approach and build trust.

“Every project was a chance to showcase our skills and prove that we can deliver valuable solutions.” shares Magi.

Margarita firmly believed in the necessity of deep and specialized expertise. Soon after its inception, INSPIRIT became recognized as the only consultancy in Bulgaria entirely focused on support, training, and consulting in the field of SQL Server Data Platform.

“SQL Server was never just a tool – it was the foundation on which we transformed our clients’ businesses.“ shares Magi. “Every optimization process improved the performance but also created a sustainable platform for analysis and strategic planning. Our approach has always been focused on building solutions that go beyond immediate needs and enable long-term development. We saw data as a strategic resource, not just as an operational necessity.“ she adds.

With a commitment to sustainable architectures and attention to detail, INSPIRIT quickly established itself as a trusted expert in data management. These early successes laid the solid foundation for the company’s reputation and opened new horizons.

The Team as a Driving Force of Success

Building a strong team is a key factor in the development of INSPIRIT. “With the increasing number of requests and the growing complexity of projects, expanding our team became a natural necessity. However, it was important for us to carry out this process with exceptional care. We found people who not only share our vision but are also ready to meet the high standards that we set.” shares Magi.

The INSPIRIT team stands out not only for its technical expertise but also for the personal qualities of its members. “We invest considerable resources in training our new colleagues—not only in technology but also in effective communication skills, project management, and client interaction. However, what we truly rely on are their personal qualities—dedication, a desire for growth, and the ability to work as a team. These qualities are the foundation of our success as a team.” she adds.

After the pandemic, INSPIRIT completely changes its paradigm regarding business organization and made a full transition to remote work for its employees. “Remote work allowed us to attract even more talent from across the country and expand our capabilities. What started as a necessity has become one of our greatest strengths.” she notes.

Technology

One of INSPIRIT’s defining characteristics is its commitment to immediately acquiring expertise and experience in using every innovation and new product in the field of the Microsoft Data Platform. Promoting the technologies is a key part of the company’s mission.

Margarita Naumova is a regular speaker at the largest Microsoft Data Platform technology forums, such as PASS SUMMIT, SQLBITS, and many others. INSPIRIT plays a key role in the Bulgarian technology community in the field of Microsoft Data Platform. Margarita established the first user group of SQL Server experts. The company sponsors all editions of the SQL Saturday (Data Saturday) event in Bulgaria, where Bulgarian data platform specialists have the opportunity to explore the latest and most advanced developments in their field.

INSPIRIT is always at the cutting edge of technology but provides its clients not necessarily with the newest, but with the most suitable technological tools that ensure a stable foundation and seamless operation of business processes.

The evolution of the Microsoft Data Platform enables the implementation of modern concepts that automate, scale, and optimize business processes. Azure provides a cloud platform with virtually unlimited resources and an extensive range of services for data analysis and processing. Power BI is fundamentally transforming how users of analytics and reports interact with their data and create the necessary visualizations for decision-making.

“Power BI democratizes data analytics by enabling the concept of the so-called Self-Service BI. The creation of analyses and reports has moved closer to the business, as Power BI eliminates the mandatory need for IT specialists’ involvement in the preparation process.” she shares.

Over the past year, Microsoft Fabric has solidified its position as a key part of INSPIRIT’s technology arsenal. “Today, Fabric represents the next big step in transformation. The technology provides full integration—from data extraction to analysis and automation. This comprehensive control allows organizations to manage their data more efficiently than ever before. For us, it was crucial to be among the first to implement Fabric because I believe this is the tool that will define the future of data and its role in business.” adds Magi.

Expanding Beyond Bulgaria

Invitations and participation in international conferences provide INSPIRIT with global recognition. Some of the SQL Master Academy training programs are starting to be delivered in various countries across Europe. In 2019, Magi was invited to establish a start-up company, based on the INSPIRIT model, in Norway. A few years later, the company became fully owned by INSPIRIT Bulgaria. This expansion provides INSPIRIT with the opportunity to be closer to its clients and better understand their specific requirements. “Our presence in Norway allowed us to deliver solutions tailored to local characteristics and expectations, which turned out to be key to our success in the region, as well as to gain valuable experience that we can apply in Bulgaria.” notes Magi.

The Future of INSPIRIT

As INSPIRIT celebrates 15 years of success, the company looks to the future with confidence and ambition. The world of data continues to transform, and the artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the game daily.

“Large Language Models and their application as AI components in various solutions represent a revolution in Information Technology. It’s only logical to expect that this revolution will also impact data platforms. We already have the first implementations of AI components in structured data processing, but they are just the beginning. The Inspirit team follows this dynamic technological trend and is ready to implement it in solutions for its clients.” shares Magi.

INSPIRIT has always been at the forefront of technological advancements, and the company’s 15th anniversary is the perfect moment to look ahead and introduce new initiatives. “This year is a time for celebration, but also for innovation. We have prepared many things that will transform the way our clients work with their data.“ she adds.

One thing is certain – INSPIRIT will continue helping its clients move forward, confident that every new challenge brings new opportunities.

“Our commitment remains unchanged – to be a leader in business transformation through data and to provide value that is as close as possible to the expectations of our clients, as well as to build technological solutions as part of a data platform vision that we have developed together. Our goal is not only to follow innovations but to be the driving force behind the change that leads our clients to sustainable success. 15 years is just the beginning.” concludes Magi.

Many organizations struggle with data overload but lack actionable insights and conclusions, as well as an easy way to leverage AI and Machine Learning. How does Microsoft Fabric address this issue?

Margarita Naumova: Microsoft Fabric is designed to transform an organization’s data into an asset that can be utilized by both IT professionals and business users. Microsoft has always aimed to make technology as easy to adopt and use as possible. This principle is also applied in Fabric.

Here, users can find everything they need to build an analytical platform, explore data, conduct statistical analyses, and create reports, all while having an AI assistant in the form of Copilot at every step.

Does this mean that Fabric is not just an expensive version of technologies like Apache Hadoop and Parquet, but rather an all-in-one integrated platform?

Margarita Naumova: Fabric is a suite of solutions. These solutions or tools cover the entire process needed to turn data into a valuable asset. They require relatively little effort, a short setup time, and a fast process of acquiring the necessary knowledge.

Fabric makes it possible to organize data extraction from all kinds of sources, both from information systems and from thousands of scattered files within an organization.

A huge advantage of Fabric over all other similar platforms on the market is that once extracted, the data is stored in a single location—OneLake. This is one of Fabric’s most powerful innovations which greatly simplifies the management of extracted data in terms of access control, classification, organization into domains and workspaces, and the management of computational resources used.

Can you give a real-world example of how Fabric benefits organizations?

Margarita Naumova: Let’s assume you are an accountant. You primarily work with tabular data and are interested in whether numbers match, what the period-end sums are, and you want the results in a table. The challenges often involve handling multiple Excel files. Fabric allows you to easily upload your files to Lakehouse and start using them as a real database while Copilot enables you to interact with this data in natural language. The result is impressive, and the amount of time saved is substantial.

If you are a marketing specialist, you need trends and statistics. Then, you need Power BI. Even with minimal knowledge, you can give Copilot a task to suggest an analysis, and you will receive a dashboard. Based on that, you can refine your requirements in natural human language and get the analyses you need without the intervention of experts.

Similarly, the Fabric platform would be used by sales representatives, business development specialists, business managers, and other business users, who in most cases have to “order” these analyses from specially trained specialists.

As for experts in the field of data, the possibilities for them and working with data in Fabric are limitless , covering all aspects, from the design of the entire analytics system, through data solution engineering, to data science, machine learning, and the creation of AI solutions.

There must be some challenges when it comes to implementing something as complex as Microsoft Fabric. What are the obstacles that organizations might face?

Margarita Naumova: Technologies are a combination of strategic ideas and tactical use of scientific innovations. It’s a constantly shifting landscape, so achieving perfection is difficult.

Fabric is a brilliant concept that combines innovations in data platform technologies. The challenges in its implementation are not so much about the technological components as they are about optimizing their use to achieve business goals. A change in the mindset of business users is required as they need to shift from being passive consumers to active users of this platform, so that they can unlock the full potential of their data.

Is it about finding a balance between using Fabric’s built-in capabilities and customizing it to fit unique business needs?

Margarita Naumova: As a platform rather than an off-the-shelf product, Fabric is designed for tailor-made solutions that require customization for each organization and client. This is where our key role as technical experts and data engineers comes in. We discuss the specific business needs, develop a customized implementation strategy, and ensure a smooth transition to the Fabric platform.

Does this mean that Fabric is not just a technological solution, but a strategic one that affects the entire organization?

Margarita Naumova: Fabric shortens the time it takes to turn data into an asset for any organization. This, in turn, provides opportunities for a competitive advantage. Any asset that provides a competitive advantage is strategic.
In this sense—yes, Fabric falls within the domain of strategic decisions for an organization.

Transforming New Technologies into Solutions for Our Clients

Business migration to the cloud is not just a technological goal. It is a paradigm shift in the way data is used, says Margarita Naumova, founder and managing director of Inspirit and author of SQL Master Academy.

What sparked your interest in data management and analysis, and what motivation lies behind your success in being in the top 1% of the best SQL Server specialists in the world?

I have been working with databases since my university years. This world attracted me with its structured nature. Later, as a lecturer, I delved deeply into the theoretical aspects of this science. The logic behind database management is a form of “beautiful mathematics,” and I have always had a passion for mathematics.

When I changed my career path and left academiа, I discovered the practical aspect of data management and analysis systems which ultimately convinced me that this was my field.
I directed my ambitions and efforts entirely in this direction. Training and certification in Redmond gave me the opportunity to join a community of globally renowned technology experts, with whom I continue to collaborate today.

My competence has opened doors to international projects all over the world and given me skills and experience. I have always set high, even seemingly impossible goals for myself – ones that correspond to my vision of myself, inspire me, and follow my passion.

Then, thеse goals become a focus—a plan executed with iron discipline, a project that must be brought to a successful completion. Success itself is inspiring. But my main motivation, especially in the most challenging moments is the knowledge I will gain along the way to achieving my goals, how much I will know once I reach them, and how much better I will become at what I do.

Tell us more about the activities and the teams you manage, as well as Inspirit’s international business related to Microsoft Data Platform & BI.
Why did you establish a second company in Norway after Inspirit Bulgaria?

Inspirit is a company that provides three types of services:

  • Consulting services for developing solutions in SQL Server, Infrastructure, and Business Intelligence Data Platforms (both on prem and Azure-based);
  • SQL Server infrastructure support services;
  • Technology training based on our own SQL Master Academy curriculum.

The Inspirit team is structured in accordance with the services the company provides. Anyone who goes through a serious internal preparation process can participate in the projects as consultants and in the Academy’s courses as instructors. This process involves intensive training, gradual integration into projects, and taking on responsibilities that match the level of competence achieved. These are the principles I follow, regardless of whether we operate in Bulgaria or Norway.

My personal ambition regarding the team—beyond our core mission to be impeccable providers of our services—is to develop the potential of each individual. We carefully select the colleagues we invite to join Inspirit, ensuring that we share a common spirit and values in which we truly believe.
On the other hand, developing a business in new markets is a significant challenge, very different from the technological ones I have gone through. It is a process in which you inevitably become better, chase standards, learn, and refine your skills to achieve precision that earns trust.

What are the major challenges of business migration to the cloud and how do cloud technologies change the way companies store and process data?

For me, the biggest challenges in business migration to the cloud are related to building the vision that should guide this transition. Data migration to the cloud is not just a technological goal. It is a paradigm shift in the way data is used. It is a step towards democratizing data, towards practically unlimited possibilities for data sharing and integration, and access to huge computing resources for their processing. Often, the reason for such migration is a technological challenge, but once the solution matures, the following questions arise: ‘Where do we go from here? Where do we start? Which technologies should we choose?”.

The reason an organization begins considering cloud migration is often “the last straw” rather than the actual core issue. Our role as consultants is to spark conversations where we listen carefully and translate what we hear into the language of technology until we identify what is truly needed in a given case. We help clarify the idea, define the ultimate goals, and the business motives for achieving them .  Only then does the “easier part” begin—choosing the architecture, designing the solution, development, knowledge transfer, support, and optimizations. The strength of the Inspirit team lies in our ability to listen and truly understand our clients.

Which innovations are shaping the future of data management? What is your role in the successful transformation and development of businesses in this process?

First of all, I will mention the boom in Artificial Intelligence services. It is still too early to outline more specific frameworks of the impact of AI on data management, but it is certainly a game changer.

The second type of innovation is related to shortening the path from data creation to its analysis. An example of this is Microsoft Fabric, which unifies in a common space similar to OneDrive all the resources needed to extract data, create models for analysis, tools for analyzing those models, and tools for sharing.

Our role is to master these new technologies, adapt them to our clients’ needs, and transform them into solutions that help their business.

Inspirit and SQL Master Academy are active supporters of the SQL and BI community of specialists in Bulgaria.

In this position, we strive to present these innovations, organize working meetings, events, and presentations to familiarize our colleagues with what outlines the ‘cutting edge’ of technological advancement in our field.”
